Privacy Policy — QuickLaunch
Plain English version: we collect your business details to build your website, we don't sell your information, and you can ask us to update or delete it any time. Your consumer rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 apply to our services.

Who we are

QuickLaunch is operated by Starlifter Ltd ("we", "us"). We provide automated brochure websites for New Zealand small businesses at www.quicklaunch.nz.

This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and how it is handled — in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, and the Fair Trading Act 1986.

What information we collect

If you add a custom domain (.co, .com, .co.nz, .nz, .net, or .org) we also collect the domain name you register — this is passed to our domain registrar to complete registration.

We do not store your credit card number. Payments are processed by Stripe directly; we only receive a confirmation that payment succeeded.

Why we collect it

We use your information to:

We do not use your information for marketing unless you separately ask us to, and we never sell it to third parties.

How it's stored

Your data is stored on a server in Sydney, Australia operated by BinaryLane. Australia has comparable privacy protections to New Zealand and is an approved country under the Privacy Act for overseas disclosure.

Uploaded files (photos, logo) are stored on the same server and served as part of your website.

We use HTTPS everywhere. Your admin panel is protected by a password you set.

Third parties we use

Affiliate links

Some pages on this site contain affiliate or referral links. If you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. We only link to services we genuinely recommend. Affiliate links are clearly associated with the relevant service (e.g. pCloud for file storage, ShortPixel for image compression).

Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020 you have the right to:

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We'll respond within 20 working days as required by the Privacy Act.

Consumer rights

Under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, our services come with a guarantee that they will be carried out with reasonable care and skill and be fit for the purpose described. We cannot contract out of these guarantees.

If your website doesn't meet the standard described, contact us and we'll put it right. If we can't resolve the issue, you're entitled to a refund. We're unable to refund where a site has been delivered as described and you've simply changed your mind.

Under the Fair Trading Act 1986, we're committed to accurate and honest representations about our service. If you believe we've made a misleading claim, please let us know at support@quicklaunch.nz.

Your website content

Information you publish on your QuickLaunch website (business name, address, phone number, photos) is public by design — that's the purpose of the service. You remain the owner of all content you upload. You can update or remove it at any time through your admin panel.

If you close your account and ask us to take down your site, we will do so and delete your uploaded files.

Cookies and tracking

The QuickLaunch website uses a small number of session cookies to keep your order form progress saved as you move through the steps. These are not used for advertising.

We use OpenReplay session recording on the order form to help us improve the service. This records how visitors interact with the page (clicks, scrolling, form navigation). It does not record passwords, payment details, or the content you type into text fields.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes we'll note the updated date at the top of this page. Continued use of QuickLaunch after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
